Refreshing facial sprays-a winter indulgence!
L-R:
Urban Decay B6 Complexion Prep Spray
Botanics Rosewater Toning Spray
Evian Natural Mineral Water
Vichy Thermal Spa Water
Caudalie Beauty Elixir
Ahhhh the bliss of spraying a cool refreshing toning spray on my face, especially when *ahem I am having a hot flash or get overheated working a non-stop 12 hour shift as a nurse. In the last year these were purchased and have been on rotation daily. I keep the Vichy and Evian in the refrigerator and the blast of cool feels so good. It refreshes my makeup, cools down the redness and is a beautiful indulgence when I am stressed. The Caudalie spray smells absolutely divine and my face feels tightened and toned every time I use this. The Botanics Rosewater is especially nice before my skincare at night and after I clean my face. The Urban Decay I actually use before putting on my makeup, as it suggests. I still use primer but this seems to make it all smooth on so nicely. At first my brain could really not justify the money on these as they seemed to be a silly indulgence; however, that became a no brainer when I used them and told myself that anything that makes me feel better and actually makes me stop and breathe and slow down was a really good thing!! Sometimes I forget that taking care of me well helps me to take care of others well.
Some of these may not "do" anything for my skin and thermal water is after all water :). Yet I will continue to use them and feel better for it because I am so totally worth feeling good about!
Do you use facial sprays and like to indulge? Hey we are so totally worth it!!! Sherry
Schizophrenic Texas weather and blogger power
Sigh* Wednesday I had the AC on and was wearing shorts, now it's toasty warm with the heat on and my favorite jackets are out. Now to ya'll that live in places where the weather is snowy/icy most of the year, you have to remember that in Texas (the above pictures show a high of 27 with sleet/ice) this kind of weather just frickin shuts us down! Our experience driving in ice is pretty minimal and snow days for school closures are unheard of, yet it happens. My in-laws lived in Detroit and just used to shake their heads at the absurdity of Texans. Yep, I am staying in today, I don't want to be a part of the bumper car skating rink that is the highways. I will stay in and safe and warm and text back my dad to tell him not to worry I won't be out in this. So, for everyone that is having crazy weather be safe and stay warm!
BLOGGER POWER
I have done copious reading and studying this whole blog experience and happened upon several articles and websites along with blogger posts, that show that more women then ever are buying products, trying new things because of a blog they read. Reviews of products fuel advertising. Putting a personal spin on things is how women communicate and learn of said products. Back in my 20's, I would never have thought to ask someone for their opinion or have read a review on a product and trust me, I wasted a lot of money on things that once I had them were just plain awful or the color was all wrong etc.
I am proud to be a part of the blogging world and to read some premier blogs with excellent information, great reviews and a personal touch. These I aspire to be with this blog. As I learn ya'll will get the benefits of my online learning and there will be a bit more in-depth reviews and information. If any of ya'll have any suggestions, advice or straight up information I may need to know, please leave a comment! I appreciate all the bloggers before me and thank you for your paving the way before me.
Stay safe ya'll and if you are in Texas be careful we can't do the ice thing :). Sherry

High Heel Help
I love my high heels and sometimes my feet swell and the back of my heel gets rubbed raw along with the tops of my feet from cute sandals. I have used band-aids and tape and they look a bit weird. So I researched how to protect and prevent these unsightly and painful spots. Enter Mission Blister Armour Anti-friction balm and Band-Aid Friction Balm. Using these has significantly aided the blisters and painful spots from wearing my beautiful heels! I bought both, one for my purse and one for home to use prior to going out. I am impressed that they work so well and if I need to re-apply it is easy and quick. I know that a woman probably invented these however that is not a known fact :). I am happy to let you know that these are available at your local drugstore and Walmart. Not wearing my heels because they cause blisters is not an option so these are an easy option for those of us that has to have our shoes make an outfit. Check them out! Sherry
bareMinerals Ready to go Complexion Perfection Palette
On occasion I love to use Bare Minerals, especially for the weekend or for a quick run to the store. When I saw this palette it was love at first sight :). All I need WITH brushes in a compact sleek fabric zippered palette. It fits into my purse or work bag should I need to touchup or travel. From left: the foundation in medium with an SPF 20, touch up veil with SPF 15, bronzer, luminizer and lastly concealer with SPF 20. There is a mini precision face brush and a mini tapered face brush. There is a booklet enclosed with pro-tips for even the newest of newbies using Bare Minerals and is concise and informative. The generous mirror has a beautiful "hello gorgeous" above it which makes me smile!
Bare Minerals states that their makeup is "clinically proven to deliver anti-aging benefits for smoother, younger looking skin". I worried that mineral makeup would make my face dry and patchy however it was surprisingly hydrating and smooth. This palette is absolutely brilliant, compact and easy to use.
Bare Minerals states:
Be a Force of Beauty
Pretty is what you are, beauty is what you do with it. Every bare Minerals product is designed to bring out your true beauty.
Have you seen this palette or do you own it? Would love to hear from you in the comment section!
Thanks for reading my blog :) Sherry

Sephora haul
L-R:
Guerlain Terracotta Light 04 Sun Blonde
Kat Von D Shade Shifter eyeshadow in Love Letter
Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Plumping Lip gloss
Caudalie Beauty Elixir-L'Wren Scott Limited edition
I have read and studied many blogs in my quest to have my own blog and "hauls" are a big draw. I only have sons and sharing my hauls has taken on new meaning now that I can excitedly share with ya'll!
I have wanted one of Kat Von D's shade shifter eyeshadows for some time now and the gorgeous purple Love Letter is my first choice. It has a purple silver maroon color change that I know will make my hazel eyes pop. Her shadows are soft, easily blendable and the first picture above is heavily swatched. I can't wait to wear this! They are $22 at Sephora.
So the Guerlain Terracotta powder has been on my wishlist for quite some time. In my quest for bronzers, I have gotten some that are too orange, too brown and muddy and some that fade really fast. This one wore beautifully after I tried it in the store and wore it for hours while shopping. It didn't turn me orange, or muddy brown and the pink and pearl and multicolor browns/bronzes mixed together so well that it made me do the "happy dance" on my way back to purchase. It has a faint baby powder/floral scent that dissipates rapidly, it is not offensive to me. The swatch above is heavily applied yet seems to blend into my skintone really well. I will enjoy wearing this during the cold pale winter!
The Too Faced lip plumper was a purchase that is an important step in my makeup routine. I like to put my moisturizer on and then the lip plumper before applying the rest of my face. Why you ask? It moisturizes and plumps my lips and takes out the fine lines and pinched look prior to putting on my liner and lipstick. I notice a marked difference in my lip product wear when I add this step. It didn't necessarily have to be this brand but I saw it and decided to try it as most plumpers are mostly the same. Will definitely see how this works.
Last but not least the Caudalie Beauty Elixir spray is an indulgent fixture in my daily life and although I have a bottle I am currently using that is 3/4 full, L'Wren Scott's beautiful artwork in limited edition drew me to purchase a back up :). This spray smells divine and soothes my mind as well as my face when I am overheated, or feeling dry and patchy with my makeup.
I could have picked up many more items however my budget screamed no! Hope you enjoyed this first ever post on a haul and I am sure there will be more in the future. Thanks for taking the time to read the post and leave me a comment if one of these treasures strikes your fancy! Sherry
