Dr. Jart's anytime BB cream

Yep, I bought into the hype and purchased this at my local Sephora. One, because I wanted to see what it was all about and two, because who doesn't want a bit of cover-up in the evening to impress the hubby ! After I clean my face, put on my skincare then use this. It is a weird colored kinda watery serum like consistency. It doesn't have a color in it per se and yet when you apply to the face it gives a subtle tint to the face. It covers redness and lightly covers my sunspots. Color me impressed!

It seems counter-intuitive to place a BB cream on at night however I can see the benefit with the skincare ingredients. Dr. Jart has some impressive albiet pricey products and yet they work. So after 19 years of marriage I still try to impress the hubby and think I will keep applying that little extra.

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts?

The Marc Jacobs Sephora VIB goodie

Because I have been doing the majority of my blogging on my phone and the occasional library forays, I was unable to put up the picture of the swatches. I will do my best to add those as soon as I am able!

I received an email that talked about "The Sophia" Marc Jacobs gel lippie minis housed in a cute black Marc Jacob clutch. When I tried to place this in my basket it was sold out. Hey, I waited patiently and waited for the email when it would be back in stock. Lo and behold the email arrived and I put that sucker in my basket ASAP.

I have wanted to try the gel lippies for some time but because I am a lippie junkie, talked myself out of it many times. But not this time! I am impressed. They are smooth, pigmented and the packaging is just chic! The black clutch they came in is perfect for the holidays, it's cute and just the right size. Oh Marc you nailed it!

Thank you Sephora and Marc Jacobs for the beautiful goodies and the beautiful lippies! Did you get this? What do you think? Do tell!

La Prairie Anti-Aging Hydra Tint SPF 20

I have a love for bases and am constantly on the lookout for ones especially for "mature" faces. This tinted moisturizer is a very expensive option and when I found it for $40 on Ebay I jumped on the chance to try it out. I could not see myself spending $100 for it, yet was able to get this new and un-opened. Several days passed before I could actually try this and a quick around the house day was perfect for reviewing. In the interest of full disclosure, I have a combo leaning to dry face and especially wicked allergies going on this time of year. I am in full menopause (or mentalpause as my husband refers to it)!

We all are aware if you have been using beauty products for any time at all that expensive doesn't always mean good, as there are some drugstore brands out that work very well! First is the futuristic silver packaging of the container with a tube opening to squeeze out some of the product. Very cool looking indeed. It proclaims to have anti-aging ingredients along with some cool herbal remedies that have been shown to help with the aging face. SPF 20 is also included and seems to be the primary use for this TM. Although at age 50 around the corner, I look for these things often in my skincare and makeup. The lotion is thick and very dry to apply (for me) and I am glad that I had moisturized well before this. I applied the product with my fingers and it blended well and covered most of my redness and faint discolorations. It did not cover my sunspots on my left cheek and chin. It set fairly quickly and I did not wear any setting powder or other makeup as I wanted to see how it wore why thoroughly scrubbing the house AND having hot flashes!!

My skin looked fresh and evened out and felt a bit sticky for about an hour. It was a natural looking base and was MSBB. Around 5 hours in, it started to slide a bit and disappear around my nose (again wicked allergies) and it also got all over my cell phone screen. Probably setting it with powder would have helped to remedy that situation. At 8 hours in (remember I am scrubbing the bathroom and kitchen etc and having hot flashes) it still held pretty well and my face still looked covered and MSBB with some minimal slippage. When I washed my face, there was still plenty of product that came off.

All in all I loved how it looked and wore. It is definitely a product I need to moisturize well with and set with powder and /or setting spray. I feel it would make a great summer base because of the great SPF and coverage.

It didn't wow me enough to re-purchase at full price as there are several drugstore and brand TM's that I adore and perform much better. Has anyone tried this? what are your thoughts on this product?

Hope you are blessed and safe in this very weird winter season we are having, Sherry

Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminizing Veil

Ladies, it can be a huge pain in the butt to find an illuminator for our mature faces. So many buys and trys I found "the one"! Browsing in Sephora I swatched this and fell in love! Subtle, moisturizing and downright gorgeous.  The hubby even asked why my skin looked so good. Well this is truly the bomb and worth every penny of the 30 bucks! Doesn't take much and if you see the swatch on my hand in the sun, its very subtle.  If you're searching try this out, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Bonus: the mirror says " Shine the light you were born to shine". I've found my holy grail!

Internet blues

I am aggravated, irritated and downright mad! I have tons of reviews and new makeup/skincare and no internet.  So I'm just doing a day at a time on my phone to blog. I'm scared that my blog will suffer but so be it! Ladies who still read the blog a huge thank you! Trust me I will catch up ★. Take care and know I'm grateful.

Urban Decay eye primer in Eden

I am so bad at priming my eyelids. I prime my face and lips (seriously when you are 49 the lips need all the help they can get). I bought Eden because it is a great alternative to eyeshadow when I am lazy or in a hurry. A quick swipe and not only are they not budging they are pretty without being over the top. (And it looks like I did something with my eyes:). Urban Decay sure makes priming the lids easy and fun. They have multiple shades and the anti-aging one is a favorite for my under eyes as well.

The product is one I won't quit anytime soon and besides, nobody needs to know that I was lazy that morning!!

What do you think about Urban Decay's primer potion? What's you favorite? Do tell!

Pixi Glow Tonic Available at Target

It has landed at Target here in the states and although it is a smaller (15oz) size, I got it to see what all the hype was about. I actually like the size at it's easy to work with. I love the aroma, it's a bit medicinal, but not bad. I use a cotton pad to apply after I cleanse my face at night, it doesn't sting and sinks in quickly. I have used it for about 2 weeks nightly. Ok, here is where it gets dicey. I have not seen a difference in my skin yet, maybe I need to just use it a bit longer. It feels good and makes me feel like I am doing something good for my skin but I'm not sure what I'm looking for yet.

As we all know products get tons of hype for sales. I will continue to use it and give it a fair shot as I adore Pixi products. Have you tried this product? What were your results, please let me know in the comments!
