Fragrances of Summer

As I was starting this post, I couldn't help but sing the "Boys of Summer" that was popular in the 80's! My title took me on a winding memory journey. Ever had that happen when a certain song comes on? On to the fragrances that are rocking my summer world.

Pacifica Tunisian Jasmine Lime perfume $17.50 rollerball

• Limes, jasmine and lush orange flowers bloom in this fresh, bright, magical scent that is wearable all year. I did some searching because I can't find the regular bottle for sell anywhere! However, I found the rollerball on Amazon. I am not an overly fruity/flowery scent lover. This has just the right amount of spicy undertone to carry this through and although it doesn't have super long lasting power, it's perfect for refresh sprays!

Bobbi Brown Beach $78

Designed with a lightly intoxicating blend of sand jasmine, sea spray, and mandarin, this fragrance is wearable anytime, anywhere.

This fragrance has been a long time favorite and now has some incredible summer beach memories to go with the scent! I'm almost out of the bottle but have a rollerball as a backup!! It has lasting power and I get lots of compliments when I wear this.

Estee Lauder Private Collection $95 (1 oz)

The Eau de Parfum Spray cap is a work of art with a hammered gold texture, inspired by jewelry given to Aerin Lauder by her grandmother, Estée Lauder.

Top Notes:
Neroli, Lilac, Rosewood

Middle Notes:
Tuberose, Gardenia, Orangeflower, Jasmine, White Lily, Orangeflower

Base Notes:
Carnation, Vanilla Bourbon

Just reading the scent notes is exciting; however, when you get a whiff of this, it's pure magic! I literally got sprayed with this in Dillards one Christmas and that was all it took to buy a bottle. It takes a little spray and the scent lasts a long time. This bottle has been going over a year.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Limon Verde $95

This is a citrus aromatic fragrance for both men and women. Top note is lime.Middle notes are green:tropical fruit, fig and sugarcane. Base note is tonka bean. Browsing in Neiman Marcus and the first thing that grabbed me was the beautiful bottle. Then I sprayed some on the tester card and it was love at first smell! This category of fragrance has 4 or 5 other concoctions that will suit many different tastes.

Stay Put Summer Makeup Favorites 2018

After watching Catharine's  Life Beauty and Lifestyle on Youtube this morning about her Summer Beauty Essentials; I was inspired to blog some of my favorites! Keep reading for the breakdown of products.

I want light, easy pretty bases to wear when the weather is roasting. Add some awful humidity and everything tends to melt right off! These three are light, glowy, contain SPF and tend to stick around through the day. Just the right amount of coverage (medium for me) and can be combined with powder coverage as well.

La Roche-Posay Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid

Who doesn't love a multi-tasking primer?? Sets my face AND protects with SPF50. It feels smooth, silicone type and helps with my sweat. The Mineral sunscreen has a universal tint, is waterproof and matte. I actually love to wear this on its own as it gives pretty decent coverage. This is my go to on the lake fishing!

Lancome waterproof Long Lasting Undereye concealer
IT Cosmetics CC+ eye SPF50

Both of these concealers have several things in common: thick, full coverage and a little goes a loooonnngggg way! I only need the tiniest bit to obtain great coverage and protection at the same time. They also last extraordinarily well. If I'm out and about then I wear these, if I'm on the beach or lake I tend to reach for lighter, thinner concealers.

Coola has some fabulous Tinted Mineral Liplux SPF30, the beautiful metal case at the top is Firecracker. Beccas Beach Tint water resistant cheek colors are fun and are in Guava and Watermelon. Cargo cosmetics rocks the summer face with their water resistant blush in Bali. Their Swimmables eyeliners last, I can say that with authority!! These are all easy to carry with you and super simple to reapply as needed.

Last but not least, the two setting sprays that have been with me for years, Urban Decay All Nighter and Chill are the favorites. Chill became an addiction when the menopausal hot flashes made me crazy red and sweaty and makeup started to move ugh. All Nighter is iconic and works for the indoor days.Best way to also knock that powdery look out with a spray!
